Rhonda Borkgren joined the VFW Auxiliary in 1996 through the eligibility of her grandfather Maurice. He served in the Navy during WW II, in the Asiatic/Pacific theater. He was a charter member of the Post and Rhonda grew up there!

I retired after 30 years as a Rural Mail Carrier. I became Department President a couple of months after I retired. It was a great experience serving the Department of Illinois as President. I am now serving as Department Secretary. I am proud to be National Council Member number 5. At the time I ran for National Council, I didn’t know I would have so many titles! Last year was crazy with too many offices. Today is much better!!!

Its been me and Laci (my Morkie) for several years. Now my daughter has moved back in with us. She is also an auxiliary member. I enjoy serving Veterans. When my significant other passed, I promised I would do my best to make sure no Veteran was ever treated like he was when he came home from Vietnam.
