VFW NATIONAL HOME PROGRAM

Where Service Is Honored—And Families Come First.

VFW National Home Chairman: Wendy Coffman

Dedicated to supporting the VFW National Home, this program upholds a legacy that began in 1925 in Eaton Rapids, Michigan. Originally established to keep the "family circle intact" for those left behind by war, the National Home has evolved to meet the modern needs of service members, veterans, and their descendants. It offers a safe, peaceful environment where families can live rent-free for up to four years while working toward a fresh start.

VFW Auxiliaries play a vital role in sustaining this mission through various fundraising and awareness initiatives, the purchase of Tribute or Centennial Garden bricks, and fulfilling needs via the National Home’s Amazon Wish List. The Department of Missouri maintains a strong dedication to this cause, sponsoring two houses on the campus and co-hosting an annual Halloween party during a dedicated fall trip to the home.

Beyond the physical campus, the program also promotes the VFW National Home Helpline, which assists callers nationwide in finding solutions for pressing needs within their own communities. The Helpline is staffed by caring professionals Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Eastern (excluding holidays). Messages left after hours or on weekends are returned the next business day. You can reach the Helpline at 800.313.4200 or via email at help@vfwnationalhome.org.
